HACCP Certification

Delmare’s priority and a long-standing commitment is to:

  • Improve our process and supply safe food for customers
  • Comply with customers’ requirements
  • Meet and comply with regulatory requirements
  • Develop, establish and maintain food safety objectives

Delmare received its HACCP certification in 2006 under the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ (OMFRA) Advantage HACCP program. This program was specifically designed for small and medium-sized companies. All employees were trained and involved in all aspects of production, to ensure that the rules and regulations mandated by the Canadian Federal and Provincial governments, were rigidly followed.

After our initial success with the advantage HACCP program, Delmare passed a stringent independent 3rd party audit, conducted by the NSF-GFTC in 2013. NSF is a leading global organization providing public health and safety solutions. Their Food & Safety Quality System requirements exceeded our traditional food quality expectations and helped us achieve our operational and growth objectives. We then graduated to a NSF-GFTC Gold Standard in 2015 and maintained this certification for the following 2 years.

In addition, our facility is independently audited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), on an annual basis, to ensure that our food manufacturing process and controls are in compliance with the Food and Drug Act Regulations.

Delmare is proud to announce that we attained our SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification in 2018. SQF standards are officially recognized by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). The GFSI program continues to globally advance food safety around the world. We have supported this initiative by establishing a food safety and quality development team which facilitates the continuous improvement process driven by our management team. Part of this advancement has made us eligible to meet nutritional claims such as trans-fat free and reduced salt. We are also eligible to produce upon request, foods under the kosher, halal, vegan, vegetarian and non-GMO (genetically modified organisms) product lines. Delmare maintains detailed product descriptions, ingredient and material tracking forms, flow diagrams (to help identify and monitor control points) and procedural and training manuals. The continued involvement of our staff is a main contributor to our success.
